Shop Genres
Japan is unique in it's various offerings for mongers. Due much to the complex rules here and the loopholes the businesses use to stay above the law. While you can ignore most of the differentiation it helps to know some of the lingo.
It helps to know that full on paying for sex is technically illegal in Japan. But sex is only defined as intercourse. HJs, BJs, even Anal is entirely legal and options you can pay for. Extras beyond the law are usually offered and negotiated with each girl. You are negotiating with each girl not the shop
Soaplands
Like I've said elsewhere there are the gold star peak of Japanese shops. You technically are paying for a bath with a woman, the police have no control over if the girl falls in love with you and sleeps with you during the time you paid for. These are often the most expensive shops in Japan because everything is included. This is by far my favorite shop in Japan. The concentration of shops open to foreigners are in tokyo.
Flow of service: You walk into a big building with a very private entrance. If you haven't already made a reservation and you should. The will be man or woman behind a counter with usually some photos to choose from. You pay at the counter and you should be whisked to a waiting room usually very old couches, a TV blaring, and an ashtray. Some places have private booths so you can wait. After that usually your girl will meet you usually in lingerie or whatever cosplay you desired.
You are taken to the play room, the bathroom as it were. You will be undressed and will be washed EVERYWHERE and to brush your teeth. Usually after that is mat play with extra fun.
Delivery Health
Sometimes called "Hotel Health".
This is by far the most common form of shop in Japan. Due to the low overhead, these are common in most ares in Japan. This is what is usually called outcall outside of Japan. You nominate a girl via usually the shops site and arrange a time and a place. You can have them "delivered" to your hotel, or we recommend finding a love hotel. These can be very convenient as you often don't have to venture far to enjoy delivery health.
Sometimes the shops will give you a discount if you go to a recommended Love Hotel or stay within an area. They often do charge a bit extra if the delivery location is far from their home base. My favorite shop operates out of Gotanda and usually they charge a few thousand yen if you are outside of that immediate area. They even have a a map of Love Hotel they prefer even offering to wave the delivery fee if you stay at x store.
We recommend Love Hotels if you are staying at a Business Hotel, like APA, Smile, Toyoko Inn, etc; they may not entirely be happy with inviting extra guests up and have been known to watch the guests coming and going. Some of the fancier hotels don't care. YMMV. But love hotels make for a convenient place as you wont be having fun on the bed you will be sleeping on.
Fashion Health
This is the older form of Delivery Health and there are not to many of these around anymore. Basically imagine a delivery health that also has a built in love hotel. A soapland without the matt play. I've been to one notable example in Sendai called VIP. They may not all be like VIP but VIP was dingy and filthy. Rusting mirrors, and I often heard sounds from the other room. This shop has two rooms and a shower.
