Yamagata City

Intro

Yamagata City is the capital city of Yamagata Prefecture. Known for it's big imoni-kai or potatoe soup party held in september. Men manning backhoes, serve up over 100,000 bowls of leftover crops in a huge stew. With a history of safflower harvest Yamgata is currently more well know as Japan's Sakuranbo or Cherry Capital with over 70% coming from Yamagata.

There are two big tourist destinations Yamadera and Ginzan Onsen. Both worth a whole day trip each, don't do both on the same day if you can. I personally recommend getting around by car if you can do it, because then you can visit Kaminoyama Castle and Zao Onsen.

Now Yamagata City is very near in dear to my heart as it is were I reside most of the week. Please hit me up in town! And just like most of tohoku a it is a baren wasteland for mongering.

Incall Shops:
