These shops exist around Japan. I'm only going to cover things for Tokyo. YMMV outside of Tokyo. They're fairly reliable at getting extras, but not FS.
How to find one?
Look on Google Maps. How to find if they offer extras? Check and see how they take reservations. If they take reservations via something called beauty. hotpepper.jp, then they're legitimate. Hotpepper actively takes down any shop that there is a hint of being a fun shop, due to goverment regulations on said shops.
You want to find one that has a website that follows a layout similar to: rakdee-thaimassage.com (as an example), and then you want to find the shop's twitter: https://x.com/rakdeethai0211 The shop will always post the days schedule on twitter and you can see what the therapists actually look like + 5 years for the anti-aging AI they all run.
Thai shops are unique in that the house fee is set but all extras are negotiable, whereas many other places have set flat fees for things. Chinese shops are occasionally the same way, but often are less flexible than Thai in terms of what you can get. Table showers are not common here in shops but do exist and will be noted on X / Twitter / Website if they exist.
Large groups of Thai massage shops are found in:
Tokyo:
- Ueno
- Ikebukuro
- Shinjuku
- Shin Okubo
- Shibuya
Near any of the 23 US military bases in Japan
You do not need to speak Japanese for an appointment, but if you want to see someone specific it will help.
Some known good Thai Massage Shops
